Some
information on DXD clutch kits for your 300ZX:
1.
UPS ground shipping cost of $30 is
included in the price shown.
2. For lightly modified Z31 turbo cars we
recommend a minimum of a stage 2 clutch kit. The stage 2 kevlar
disc will last longer, hold more torque and have an equally
smooth engagement as a stage 1 or OEM clutch. We also recommend
at least a stage 3 for any turbo car running a modified exhaust,
intake, intercooler and increased boost. A Z31 with a stock fuel
system and turbo charger is still capable of producing over
330lb-ft of torque at the rear wheels.
3. There are two different stock Z31 flywheels.
All USDM 84-89 NA cars and 84-86 Turbo cars use the "240mm
clutch". All 87-89 Turbo cars use the "250mm clutch".
The difference in these clutches is the type or pressure plate
and the bolt pattern of the clutch cover and flywheel. Either
flywheel can be used on any year/model Z31, as long as the
correct clutch is used with the flywheel.
4. Fidanza aluminum flywheels/SBC Chromoly
flywheels are available for $390/$400 with any clutch kit. The
flywheels are both designed to work with either Z31 clutch, but
if you order one with the clutch kit you will receive a 240mm
bolt pattern clutch because it has a higher default clamp load.
While we also know that this is NOT the "best price"
on the internet for the fidanza AL flywheel, we wish to ONLY
sell the flywheels with a clutch kit for very good reasons; they
can be balanced as an assembly and shipped
to the customer ready-to-install. Finding a local shop
to balance an aftermarket flywheel can sometimes be difficult.
If you pruchase a flywheel along with a clutch, we include the
balancing service for no charge as an added value to you, our
customer.
5. Please be aware that for stage 4-6 240mm
clutches, a 250mm disc is included. This is because the pressure
plate used with stages 4-6 is compatible with the 250mm clutch
disc. The larger disc gives slightly more torque capacity and
can be used with a stock flywheel despite the valley on the
outside of the disc. The difference between stage 5 and stage 6
clutch kits is a modified high-clamp (2700lb) pressure plate.
6. Puck clutches are available for track use. We
do not recommend puck clutches for street use.
7. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE E-MAIL!
Note:
All Z31 clutch discs use a high quality 6 spring hub, product
images above are for reference and comparison purposes.
